Yesterday was Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year.  (Today might be also; depends on how you keep track.)  Yelena & I decided not to go to services this year.  I know, surprising, right?  This from the guy who wears a kippah, keeps kosher, and blesses God three times a day?  Allow me to explain.

Minecraft and Fort Point

koppie — Thu, 08/18/2011 - 11:02

You may have heard about this awesome computer game called Minecraft.  It's actually been out for a while now, but I've held off on blogging about it, for one very good reason.  I can explain why this game is awesome, I can link to a review that explains why this game is awesome, but the best writers say "show, don't tell," so I had to wait until I could really show you what makes this game so awesome.

We've said goodbye to a family friend: the Belkins' 1994 Honda Accord.  To give you an idea of how important this car is:

Gallery is back!

koppie — Fri, 05/20/2011 - 01:54

I recently blogged about switching web hosts.  6 weeks into it, I'm still pretty happy with Hostgator, they're a lot more Drupal-friendly, even with the cheapest hosting package (which is cheaper than Powweb).  I've had a couple reliability issues, and they say that's what you get on a shared server, but Hostgator still advertises 99.99% uptime and I haven't been getting that in the past couple weeks.  And it freaked out a client, which is not cool.

Royal Wedding: The Outfits

koppie — Sat, 04/30/2011 - 01:20

Yes, I'm going to talk about the royal wedding.  The outfits, no less.  I'm more interested in the men's uniforms, of course, but first a tip of the hat has to go to Princess Kate's dress, which was an obvious homage to American actress Grace Kelly, who also married into European royalty.  In another apparent homage to the United States, Kate had a Maid of Honor, which apparently isn't usually done in England.  Classy.

I am a lawyer but this is not legal advice. If you choose to rely on my opinions, you do so at your own detriment. If you need legal help, hire an attorney. (If you want to hire me, contact me and we can negotiate representation.) I used to work for the District Attorney's office but my opinions are my own and are not meant to represent the policy or position of anyone else.
